The other night it was mentioned about the low footfall being registered on both the servers at the mo.
Just a thought but should we allocate one night a week and play on the casual server as opposed to playing on MM?
What about changing the DM server every now and again to demolition or arms race?
I await your responses with (master)bated breath

...and why not?

Yeah I think its a good idea, shame to see the servers so quiet and it also means we aren't seeing any new potential long term members. Does it need to be 32 man though as it often turns into a massive clusterfuck with too many on the map to play properly. Perhaps 20 max at leats until we get it full again

Also agree on the DM server, love arms race and demolition isn't bad either

Dear Lord, I just agreed with Cold

Yeh this is a great idea.  Maybe we should do Sundays?
How much is the second server costing us Mikey?  Perhaps we should go down to one server for now?
If we have 2 it dilutes the number of admins on each.

Our warmups for MM should really be on the casual tbh, that way we can prepare better for MM rather than running around like headless chickens on DM, and it also puts more of a presence on the casual everyday.

Cant do sundays personally but no matter. IMO deathmatch is better for warming up to get your aim going, warming up on casual means you tend to spend much of the limited warmup time speccing cos someones just blown your head off in first 15 seconds of round

Seems like a good idea to me.

1) I'll try to get on the Casual server on Sunday and Wednesday evenings. Let's call them practise evenings.

2) If we decide to keep the second smaller server, I'll look into using Arms Race(GunGame)  and Demo modes in addition to Deathmatch.  Any of these modes are good for warming up.

Right, starting Sunday 3rd August is ToG night where we all try to get on the casual server.

I shall make an event on Steam Groups, DMB I have put advert on server for this. (Hope it works)

If you read the YouTube thread, it says some of the jumps can't be done now.  I think I remember when Valve  made the lift shaft descent impossible.

I'm going to practise the ladder jump which normally needs a boost.  That one is really handy....

VG video though, the skill is amazing....

Having played on and had fun on the casual server again last night could I suggest reducing the round times which I think currently stand at 3 mins. Seems far too long to me and casuals are likely to lose interest when its 1v1 and the T is taking it extremely cautiously because there's no/little timer pressure

Not even sure if this can be done though.

Oh and increase the nades to 4 like mm!

Ok, just a few thoughts.  If we reduce the time to 2 mins and have 4 'nades we nearly have a Comp server.  We already use "solid team mates" for boosting....and we over price AWP and auto sniper rifles..

So, we are neither fish nor fowl.

So, I'm not really in favour of this change.....as a casual server is by definition "a casual server".......however, if we want to do it, we could change the second sever into a Comp server which would provide a platform for practising for Comp. matches.  You all might want a change on the second server which we currently use for Arms Race and Deathmatch.

Need some feedback on Grekk's idea from our registered members.  Grab a free forum account and let us know what you want.

I do kinda agree with Grekk and DMB....talk about sitting on the fence.

I do find the rounds too long and the number of nades limiting but thats because we are so used to playing comp, but like DMB says it is a casual server.

My opinion lower the round times to 2:30 and leave nades as they are.

Not sure about changing the other server to comp, as this may attract us to that server rather than playing casual.

Not sure where the inference that I wanted a comp server came from, I dont care about the nades tbh but I do think the map time is a valid point comp or not. People won't wait, they'll leave.

Ok here's my 2p worth, for what it's worth (it is worth 2p): I always like playing on the server but it's even more fun when there are plenty of players on, and for that I guess you've got to avoid a couple of maps which people actively dislike. I've seen it happen several times, you just get a group of half a dozen casual players on the server, then a map comes on and most of them bale out, presumably to another server. Aztec springs to mind, unfairly I know as it's much better balanced nowadays but hasn't shaken its bad reputation among casual players I guess.

So to summarise, I would ditch Aztec and see if it helps numbers.
